“Behind” Casa do Arco Guest Villa

Casa do Arco Guest Villa Douro is a conceptual project of modern architecture, under the responsibility of “Menos é Mais” Office, with Francisco Vieira de Campos Architect signature.

It incorporates characteristics and traditional elements of the Douro Wine Country, such as shale stone and shale terraces, with elements of contemporary architecture, such as reinforced concrete.

With a privileged location, 10 minutes from Pinhão village and 20 minutes from the capital district Vila Real, where all the surrounding is UNESCO World Heritage Site, Casa do Arco Guest Villa appears as a viewpoint in itself.

The wide windows open to the exterior, creating the impression of authentic impressionist canvases to those who visit us.

The 3 rooms of the House, distinguished by the landscape they transport to the interior, have large and very comfortable beds with sensory luxury finishes: 600 thread count organic cotton sheets, linens, velvets, feathers, solid wood and leather notes.

The rooms bathroom, all with natural light, stands out for the luxury of simplicity such as the use of Estremoz marble throughout the shower area combined with Riga Pine wood floors. The nationally made, dense and voluptuous organic cotton terry cloths promote a feeling of absolute comfort.

The interior design, under the responsibility of the “Atelier da Boavista/Arquitectura”, is born from the desire of Ana & Marco to reflect in the interior of the house the iconic and representative elements of the “Alto Douro” environment, as well as the surrounding area of the building, thus translating the essence of the place.
